Agents discover small-town charm on the big slopes of Silver Star

30 travel agents were welcomed into Silver Star’s close-knit community during the recent Sno’n’Ski Mega Famil, hosted by Destination BC.

Silver Star Mountain Resort is famous for its combination of beginner friendly runs and adrenaline pumping advanced terrain.

Despite the big mountain scale of Silver Star’s slopes, the Sno’n’Ski group were welcomed to the resort in a style reminiscent of an intimate mountain chalet.

Helloworld Travel Caboolture agent, Chloe Blundell, was especially impressed by the way the hosts bent over backwards to accommodate the Sno’n’Ski group.

“From Guy Paulsen [Silver Star Destination Sales Manager] right down to the attendant at Tube Town, the staff went out of their way to help us,” said Chloe.

“Thanks to their efforts, we were able to try fat biking, tubing and snow shoeing as well as skiing and snowboarding and some of the group even took a sleigh ride out to a rustic cabin for dinner.”

“We’re a large group and many of the activities weren’t in the original itinerary, but every single team member was happy to make the extra effort.”

The Sno’n’Ski group were wined and dined at a variety of Silver Star’s choicest food and beverage outlets, with the poutine at Red Antler being voted the best feed of the trip to date.

The agents who were accommodated in the Snowbird Lodge apartments wrapped up their days with a soak in their slope slide hot tubs, while those staying at Firelight skated on the scenic ice pond in their backyard.

The Sno’n’Ski group members agreed that their favourite thing about Silver Star was the genuine welcome they were extended by the resort staff.

“Whether you were walking into the grocery store or going through the rentals process, everyone who works there was very kind and eager for a chat,” said Chloe.

“They were also curious to find out how you liked their mountain, just to make sure your holiday was as perfect as it should be.”

“I felt completely at home, and I look forward to showing off this little gem like a local on my next family holiday!”

Silver Star was the second stop on the eight-day Sno’n’Ski Mega Famil, an annual agent tour of Canada’s stunning ski fields.
